introduction

castle in the sky is one of the bestest animated movies you could ever see. its got fantasy, funny, and adventure all rolled into one. Hayao Miyazaki wrote it, directed it, drew a lot of it, and a whole bunch of other stuff i dont really know about.

what i do know is that i love it, as a kid it was the ultimate fantasy of hooking up with a pretty girl and taking on an adventure.

pazu meets sheeta who is on the run from pirates and agents. theyre after her and the crystal necklace she wears. decorated with the same symbol that is believed to belong to laputa, a mythical floating castle filled with treasures.

there are two english dub versions, the most widely available from disney, but an older late eighties dub that i prefer originally distributed by streamline.

with lovable characters, and beautiful backdrops, the movie sets a scene of an innocent warmth to the heart.

so we start of with our beloved sheeta held captive by muska on an air type ship, that looks pretty cool. its night time and the dola gang come hurtling up in there buzzy jet ski type things that fly, crashing in on a coctail party and making there way to sheeta. upturned tables and gunfire stall as sheeta makes her way to the outside of the ship. not willing to be captive, sheeta is the ultimate in hard core extremest sport, fortunately things work out and she doesnt go splat. this part is just the pre something or other. the adventure really starts after she meets pazu in a mining town. lil punk, (nah, i was never jelous).

i tried not to spoil anything but then i guess i havent told too much either, there maybe some moment spoilers in my favourite moments, but i dunno, i'm just gonna move onto that bit.
